Morrisville,NC Baby Photographer-Don't Forget My Nap

This little girl was all smiles but she also did not want to miss her morning nap.  Oh don't we love the stage of morning nap or no morning which do I choose today.   Luckily, mom and dad were pretty good at tickling, snuggling,  and lifts in the air!  Even was she was tired she was too cute!

Durham,NC Baby Photographer

I usually don't allow other photographers during a photography  session but I had to make an exception for these guys!  Big brother is so into photographing that he documented his sister's birth at the Women's Birth Center.  Pretty cool!  If you have a little one interested in taking photos you may want to think about letting them use your old digital camera.  Fisher price also makes a nice digital camera.

Check out their adorable baby sister.

Raleigh Durham Child Photographer| Hereeee's Johnny!

The Johnny Carson introduction is a little cheesy but this baby was almost 2 weeks over due.  His parents were very excited to finally meet him.  All 9 pounds!

I had a great time photographing my friend's new baby. I have to say I haven't had a baby be this kind to me in awhile. He slept the whole time!

I had do a double take editing this set of images. Big sister loves her doll "Charlie" but it just doesn't beat the real thing.

Teaching at Center for Documentary Studies at Duke

I've had many clients tell  me to let them know when I'm teaching a photography class.   Here is your chance to be creative, create something unique for your family and improve your photography skills. I'm teaching a new class at Duke University's Center for Documentary Studies  Continuing Education class.  It is open to all levels of students.

The Family in Documentary Photography

March 31- May 19th, 2011

7pm-9pm

$265

http://cds.aas.duke.edu/

Description
Family stories not only make for interesting personal history, they can also convey a much broader sense of time and place as revealed through the lens of the individual. This class will explore documenting the family—as a person working to understand the evolution and complicated interpersonal dynamics of one’s own family tree and as a documentarian who is negotiating conflicting roles as family member, archivist, and storyteller. Students will work toward completion of an intensive documentary project for the duration of the eight-week course. Projects can range from a project about a single intriguing relative to one’s own children to navigating an empty nest, overcoming a divorce, or caretaking for an aging parent. Students are welcome to work in creative ways with family negatives, documents, and photographs. We will learn about photograph and keepsake archiving, as well as look at various ways to present photographs in books, slideshows, and exhibits.

Abigail Blosser is a practicing artist and photographer. Her art has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the United States, including the Kennedy Museum of Art, the Reese Museum, and at Duke University. She earned her M.F.A. in photography from Ohio University and has taught photography to students of all ages. Her commercial photographic work can be viewed on her website: abigailblosserphotography.com.
