I'm really proud to have my work on display at Chapel Hill Wine Company. They are a great business that gives so much back to the community. Todd Wielar owner of Chapel Hill Wine Company started the non profit Corks for Kids that raises funds for children at the NC children's hospital. I will have more info about their 2 day event on my blog. It's a great event in September.
Todd best describes Corks for kids.....
Kids come from all over the state to receive the best health care around - regardless of their ability to pay or the complexity of the care that is needed. But if it is the state’s Children’s Hospital, why do they need our help? Can’t they just go to the state for more money? If only it were that simple.
Certainly, the state provides a portion of the hospital’s budget. But that goes to cover the bare minimum – the basics that keep the lights on and the place running. What the state doesn’t do is provide the funds needed to attract world-class physicians and staff or to initiate innovative research and care programs. The challenge is to find a way that allows the Hospital to be innovative and develop programs beyond what's afforded from patients' limited insurance and uncompensated care to children statewide.
Simply stated, much of the additional personnel and equipment they need to develop new and innovative programs are not available from the financial resources they have. That’s where Corks for Kids comes in.
Check out their website....You can sign up for their weekly emails and hear about their great discounts on wine. Stores are located in Chapel Hill and Hillsborough.

Everyone needs a good photo of themselves. I was reminded of this today when I was asked to submit a photo of myself to accompany my bio for a teaching gig. Did I have a nice photo? Nope. I had to crop a family snapshot. I hate that when you crop a photo and you see someone's shoulder in front of the person. Not good. So, indulge yourself and have a nice photo made of yourself without the kids!
Here are a couple of Emily Geizer. She has a great website called A child's Perspective that offers free online parenting classes that tackle all those fun issues like potty training.

It was a great morning photographing E. She came two month early and is doing great. Did I mention that her parents are doing a great job as well. It was really neat to see how well they knew E although she had only been home a short time. We even made it outside to the front porch to enjoy her dad's roses ( his second pride and joy).

Okay, I'm going to try to be a better blogger and share some photos of from my photo sessions. No more excuses. It has been 13 months but Liberty is know sleeping through the night so I have a little more energy. Right?!! I'll pretend I have more energy but these two boys sure don't have to pretend! It was a fun day playing baseball, paper airplanes, dinosaurs, reading books, and a little jumping on the bed. I'm not sure if this first photo will be hanging in the house but I love it.
