Session Slide Show

More people are inquiring about session slide shows. Perhaps because it seems like everyone has a flat screen tv. At least it seems this way when I'm shopping at Costco.

Slide Shows are great to share with friends and family. At our house we like to play them during get togethers. Our daughter loves them! She often requests to watch one from her previous year of life. She always has many questions about the photographs and loves to tell everyone her story!

Check out the link below to get a glimpse of a slideshow!

Gallery Wrap Canvas Wall Display

I just received this photo from a client. They are a very creative couple and knew exactly what they wanted their photo wall display to look like. This is in their dining room. The wall display consists of 3 16x20 and 2 20x24 gallery wrap canvas prints. Thanks so much for the picture!

expressions

Little R was so sweet to photograph. At 10 weeks old he is making some extra cute expressions. I love to watch babies react to their parents. They have such unconditional love for us (parents). Sometimes we focus on their funny giggles and faces but we forget about who is making it happen.....the parent (just left of the lady with the camera!) Thanks Moms and Dads!

All Onesie

Little O is a strong and sweet little boy who came into this world 5 weeks early but is already growing. I love this first image. He looks like he is really working hard to fill out his onesie!

Love Dad's suggestion! I think big sister did too....Resting on big sister!

"I don't want to go to the ocean!"

This is what my 2 1/2 year old said to me and her father as we approached the ocean. She was so excited about the vacation to the ocean. We would be with her grandparents and cousins, hit the waves, pick up sea shells. It all changed when she saw the ocean. She loved it last year. We couldn't figure it out but we may have diagnosed the problem. Could it be too many books about the sea creatures? On the few walks on the beach that she would go on she talked about the crabs and fish. Hmmmmm.....so I'm left with this single image of my daughter which I thinks captures who she is today. I fun, spunky little girl who loves the pool and not the ocean.

A Child's Environment

Sunday I had the opportunity to photograph E & J at Duke Gardens. It was pretty hot out there but it was fun to go through the gardens with two children who really had a relationship with the space. They each had their favorite spots and were eager to find them.

Lucyna and Rasik's Wedding

It was so much fun to witness and photograph Lucyna and Rasik's Wedding. It was a three day celebration with family from Poland, India, and throughout the United States. The wedding was held at Bank of America's Founders Hall in Charlotte, NC. Here are a few of my favorites. Check back again soon for more!

Dancing In the Streets.....Downtown Durham

We were really dancing in the streets of downtown Durham! It was a great morning not to hot! I love to photograph in the urban setting- so many great colors, textures, and architecture! Durham isn't too big so it's really fun for kids to explore!

X and A were awesome! They had some Happy Feet!

Some times it takes a while.....

Sometimes it takes a while to feel comfortable with the camera and the photographer wearing the purple sneakers. I think J started to enjoy the process! He knew where he wanted to stand and where his parents should be too! J, I hope you enjoy the photographs you helped to create!

a silly one!

Great New Children's Clothing Store in Chapel Hill!

Pearl and I went and checked out a cool new store in Chapel Hill called Glee Kids. Glee Kids is located in the University Square Shopping Center. Pearl found theses awesome leg warmers and said, "Hey, look at these guys! Cool! I get them!" I've been looking all over town for leg warmers but couldn't find any. This is the store to find the neat things you may have seen on blogs like www.dailycandy.com, or Cookie magazine.

Check out their website at www.gleekids.com. Melissa Russell, the owner, writes daily posts about each of the clothing lines featured in the store.

BW or Color?

Here are a few images from a shoot on Sunday. I'm a little late posting these images. I'm having a hard time deciding which images would look better in bw or color. L and J have beautiful red hair and it is so vibrant in the color images. So far it looks like we are in color!

Back to Blog

I have been terrible about maintaining my blog. I have a lot of excuses. I've been busy looking at other blogs, taking care of our new dog, photographing, and figuring out our 2 year old. But.....

I'm going to try to do better and spend some time reflecting on life as a mom and a photographer!

I wanted to pass along a link to an article that was in this sunday's NY Times magazine titled, " Taking Play Seriously."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/02/17/magazine/17play.html?ex=1360904400&en=370521e3a96cf510&ei=5124&partner=permalink&exprod=permalink

This is a great article about different types of play in humans and animals and looks at research linking children's brain development with rich play activity.

Happy Reading!
